Our Station relies on your donations to keep our equipment new and our volunteer members safe and well trained.
The RCMSAR34 Marine Rescue Society (RMRS) is responsible for raising the funds necessary to operate RCM-SAR Station 34. RMRS is a registered charitable organization in Canada, and all donations are tax-deductible. We also have a Legacy Fund for people to assist us from their will. There are no administration fees and no hidden costs when you donate. With no paid employees, every dollar raised by RMRS goes towards purchasing and maintaining our search and rescue equipment. All equipment, including our boats, is purchased through funds raised by donation.
CURRENT NEEDS
Our members have been fundraising, relying on donations and applying for various grants to raise funds needed to support these replacement projects. Please support us to achieve our goal.
All donations will be provided with an official tax receipt with our registered BC Charity number for tax purposes.
1.) Boat lift – 2023
Our Boat Lift is no longer operational and our vessel bottom needs to be scraped regularly. Estimated Replacement is expected to cost at least $55,000 and is scheduled to occur during 2023.
2.) Fast Response Craft Rebuild or Replacement- 2027 – .
Vessel life is around 20 years. We had a major refurbishment of our vessel in 2017. Estimated costs around $380,000.00 of which our station needs to fundraise 50%.

5) Donate Securities
When you donate securities, you pay no capital gains tax on the appreciated value (increased price) of your securities. Donating securities directly to RCMSAR34 avoids the tax on capital gains, maximizes the return on your investment and protects the tax credits for use against other taxable income.
