Our station has been on call throughout the pandemic, and several rescues have been performed during this period. In the last 12 months we have been on 17 missions. On the water and classroom training has been slowed, to curtail some interactions, but enough to maintain our skills. As you may know all our fundraising events had to be cancelled, however the need for funding has not changed. Our three projects are: Boat lift replacement – 2024, Fast Response Craft Replacement – 2027. These are Capital projects and our station needs to fundraise 50% of these. Our regular operating expenses of about $65,000 annually and require about 25% fundraising by our volunteers. HOW CAN YOU HELP….. below some options for you to consider. |
1.) Return your empty bottles and plastic containers to Island Return it South Cowichan on 1350 Fisher rd, Cobble Hill, BC V0R 1L2. Modified Hours Tues-Sat 10-4pm. If you tell them to pay your deposit returns to the RCMSAR34 MARINE RESCUE SOCIETY (RMRS) they will accumelate your returns and save them for the Society. |
3.) If you add our membership number 84053 to your purchases at the Peninsula CO-OP, the RCMSAR34 Marine Rescue Society will get the annual Dividend Cheque. |
