The RCMSAR 34 Cowichan recognizes, and gives deep thanks, that we work, live, play, and camp on the traditional lands and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples.
The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR) Station 34 is a volunteer based organization located at the Fisherman’s Wharf in Cowichan Bay, British Columbia. We are part of the marine search and rescue system within the waters of Saanich Inlet on Southern Vancouver Island.

Our Station’s goals
- To save 100 % of lives at risk
- to reduce the number and severity of SAR incidents
- to promote marine safety
- to support the Canadian Coast Guard
- to provide a humanitarian service
- to maintain the highest professional standards
- to promote dedication and pride of membership
